The Tel Aviv Recorder Festival

Accompanied by dear friend Tim Veldman, I took part in my first ever competition, stepping far outside my comfor zone!

I had the pleasure to be awarded two prices:
- 2nd prize in the category ‘Soloists up to the age of 26
- 2nd prize for ‘Best performance of an Israeli piece’ shared with talented french recorder player Guillaume Beaulieu.

I certainly will never take such prizes for granted, but it certainly pushes and motivates me to go on with what I do with passion and dedication while defending the music I believe in!

Frans Bruggen’s Historical Recorders Collection

Last January, I had the chance to visit a very special collection of original recorders belonging to the late Frans Brüggen. 17 breathtaking instruments for their aesthetic and sound are just pure beauty.

The most reliable historical sources yet we can and have to learn so much from them. There’s no need in asking me how this experience has changed and motivated me.

Here’s a little look at that visit.
